MUSIC AT THE CATHEDRAL OF SAINT HELENA

• The Cathedral Choir
The Cathedral Choir sings choral literature from all musical periods: Gregorian Chant, Renaissance polyphony, Baroque, Calssical, Romantic and Contemporary music. The Cathedral Choir sings at all 11:00 Masses and most Solemnities.

Eligibility: Men and women, ages 16 and older
Boys ages 7 and older (limited to 15 boys)

Rehearsals: Beginning Wednesday, September 17 at 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Rehearsals are held in the Cathedral Choir.

• The St. Cecelia Choir

Eligibility: Girls ages 7 – 15 (limited to 40 girls)

Rehearsals: Beginning Tuesday, September 16 at 3:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.
Rehearsals are held in the Cathedral Choir.

• Schola of Cantors
Consisting of Cathedral Choir members called to additional service. The Schola sings at all Sunday liturgies, occasionally for weekday Feast Observances and at Wedding and Funeral liturgies.

• Choir Guild
This group of volunteers help with the choir vestments and the choral library. Also,
there is a need for women to help as choir mothers for the St. Cecelia choir and
men to help as choir father for the boys in the Cathedral Choir.
