In the Gospel this weekend, a person in the crowd asks Jesus, "Lord, will only a few people be saved?”. He doesn’t answer the question directly, but instead tells them, "Strive to enter through the narrow gate”. The question posed is one we all think about at times. And yet, in our own walk to holiness, it’s not the most important thing to consider. Jesus wishes for us to strive for the narrow gate that is himself, which prompts us to endure the struggles and trials of our daily lives. As was referenced in the second reading from Hebrews, the Lord loves those whom he disciplines, and we ought to view our trials as opportunities to receive discipline. Through these things, we are strengthened and purified in our journey towards Heaven!
